Sprague's Pasco Team Welcome Michael Hempstead as Operations Manager
Sprague Pest Solutions has promoted Michael Hempstead to Operations Manager for its Pasco, Washington branch.
Hempstead joined Sprague in 2020 as a Route Manager and played a key role in the branch earning Branch of the Year in 2023. With extensive experience servicing food processing and agricultural facilities, he brings deep industry knowledge to his new role.
He joins a motivated leadership team, working alongside Branch Manager Brent Schafer, ACE, to drive growth. Regional Manager Jared Wallace praised Hempstead’s dedication and client relationships, calling him a “perfect fit.”

Sprague proudly announces that Chris Neely and Sergio Martinez Aliaga from the Bellevue, WA branch have earned their Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) certifications, reinforcing Sprague’s commitment to technical excellence. With their achievement, Sprague now has 36 ACE-certified professionals and 5 Board Certified Entomologists across its footprint. Bellevue is now one of Sprague’s top ACE-performing branches. In Washington alone, 18 Sprague team members hold ACE credentials, showcasing the company’s leadership in science-based pest management. Sprague continues to invest in professional development, equipping its team with advanced expertise to deliver superior pest solutions to businesses across the Western United States.

Sprague Pest Solutions’ 2025 Super Meeting & 10th Annual Awards Gala was its largest yet, setting the stage for the company’s 99th year. Keynote speaker Charles C. Weathers inspired attendees with a session on fostering belonging, launching Sprague’s first-ever Belonging Committee. The 10th Annual Awards Gala, honored top performers, including Branch of the Year: Portland, OR, and Technician of the Year: Ron Tanguay. “Our team is stronger than ever,” said CEO Ross Treleven. “Congratulations to our winners—your dedication drives our success!”

Michigan Pest Management Association Wraps Up 78th Annual Winter Meeting
The Michigan Pest Management Association (MPMA) successfully concluded its 78th Annual Winter Meeting on February 21, 2025, at FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek. Over 50 pest control companies participated in two days of training, networking, and industry updates.
Highlights included expert-led sessions, scholarship awards for Madeline and Brandon, and the recognition of Bill Welsh in the PCT Crown Leadership Class of 2024. MPMA also elected new leadership, with Steve Alcala as President.
The event was made possible by sponsors like Veseris, Zoecon, and Syngenta.

VPMA proudly announces the addition of six new Master Technicians following an intensive two-day training focused on Cockroaches and Blood-Feeding Arthropods. These dedicated professionals have demonstrated exceptional expertise and commitment to advancing their knowledge in pest management.
The newest VPMA Master Technicians include:
• Geoffrey Gurr, Kenneth Teachey, and Brian Pendleton – Accel Pest & Termite Control LLC
• Eric Douglas, Damian Phillips, and Sterling Wilson – Fox Pest Control
The VPMA Master Technician program is designed to provide in-depth, hands-on training that equips pest management professionals with specialized knowledge in key pest categories. The recent sessions, held over two days, covered the biology, behavior, and advanced treatment strategies for cockroaches and blood-feeding arthropods, ensuring that participants are prepared to tackle these challenging pests with precision and effectiveness.
