Pest Management Foundation Announces the Abell Pest Control Legacy Scholarship Award
The Pest Management Foundation has announced the availability of the Abell Pest Control Legacy Scholarship Award, established by Abell Pest Control, starting October 1, 2026.

By supporting their growth, we hope to help them build meaningful careers and continue the legacy of care and service that has shaped Abell for more than a century,” said Liz Abell, CEO, Abell Pest Control.
About the Abell Pest Control Legacy Scholarship Award
Award Amount: One (1) award per year totaling $1,000
Donor: Abell Pest Control
Scholarship Summary: Abell Pest Control has generously established the Abell Pest Control Legacy Scholarship Award. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school senior or university student currently enrolled at an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This award was established to support students who demonstrate a strong commitment to Abell Pest Control's core values of integrity, empathy, reliability, innovation, and giving back to their community. Preference will be given to students pursuing studies in fields aligned with and supportive of the pest management industry.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Full-time student in good academic standing with an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as high school seniors or college/trade school students at an accredited institution within the United States or Canada.
- Students must demonstrate a strong commitment to Abell Pest Control’s core values of integrity, empathy, reliability, innovation, and giving back to their community.
- Preference will be given to students pursuing studies in fields aligned with and supportive of the pest management industry, including but not limited to pest management, environmental science, urban entomology, rodentology, biological sciences, agriculture, food safety, public health, hospitality, property and facilities management, business operations, sustainability, and technology-related programs.
- Preference will be given to applicants located in Canada or one of the following U.S. states in which Abell conducts business: Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida.
- Preference will be given to applicants whose families serve in the pest management industry, or those who demonstrate a meaningful connection to the pest management industry through academic research, professional experience, or other relevant exposure.
Application Requirements:
- Resume or curriculum vita.
- Current unofficial academic transcript.
- A one-page (minimum) essay describing the applicant’s professional goals and aspirations and how he/she plans to use their studies to contribute to their field of study.
- At least one (1) letter of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant’s work ethic, academic progress, and how he/she plans to use their studies to contribute to their field.
- Other supporting documents (research papers and proposals, faculty research participation, related industry internship participation, fellowship projects, industry work experience, etc.) can also be submitted.
- Recipients must commit to writing a letter of appreciation outlining how the scholarship has helped them in their academic endeavors.
- Recipients will be invited to participate, on a voluntary basis, in a virtual conversation with Abell leaders to learn more about how the scholarship has supported their journey and future endeavors.
- Recipients will be requested to submit a quote outlining the positive impact of receiving this award. This quote will be used in marketing communications by Abell to celebrate this award.
Applications for all Foundation scholarships will open in October.
