Expected Farm Bill House Vote; Help NPMA Preserve Sec. 10206
The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567) as early as Tuesday, April 28, following approval in the House Rules Committee. State pesticide preemption under Section 10206, titled Authority of States, is currently included in the bill, but is facing five amendments that would strike Section 10206 from the Farm Bill. These amendments are coming from both sides of the aisle, and NPMA has developed a strong advocacy campaign to urge all House members to support state pesticide preemption in the Farm Bill.
State associations are working with NPMA's Public Policy team to send letters to their state delegations, but we need individuals to reach out to their representatives as well! NPMA has heard from Committee staff that they received more than 100 letters on Thursday from individuals asking to strip state pesticide preemption from the Farm Bill. We need to match our opposition's reach! Our VoterVoice campaign makes it simple to send a note to your Representative, and the impact cannot be understated.
Please take a few moments to send a comment to your Representative informing them of the importance of state pesticide preemption in the Farm Bill (Sec. 10206).
Given that the House floor vote will take place next week, we must act quickly and mobilize our efforts nationwide to ensure state pesticide preemption is preserved in the Farm Bill. We have sent more than 225 letters to Congress, with top responses coming from:
- Florida (59)
- Michigan (29)
- California (25)
Let's get some friendly competition going and increase our industry's voice in the House of Representatives!
