Last Call: Applications for NPMA's Executive Leadership Program Close November 13
Aspiring industry leaders have just over a week left to apply for the next class of NPMA's Executive Leadership Program (ELP). The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 13, 2026.
Now welcoming applications for its next class, the ELP is NPMA's two-year program for identifying and developing the association's future leaders. The program is designed to build a pipeline of engaged members who reflect the diversity of NPMA's membership, and to prepare them to take on leadership roles within the association and the wider pest management industry.
What the program offers
Over two years, participants work through a curriculum that combines professional development, association training, one-on-one mentoring and hands-on involvement in NPMA events. Highlights include:
- Personal mentorship – each participant is paired with a mentor who provides guidance on personal and business growth.
- Soft-skills training – sessions on networking, executive etiquette, unconscious bias and public speaking.
- Association know-how – training on NPMA's purpose, history and goal areas, plus guidance on making the most of NPMA member benefits.
- Committee service – the chance to serve on NPMA committees and contribute to the association's work.
- Event attendance – each year, participants attend two of NPMA's three major meetings, including the Board Meeting and committee meetings held before the conference, for committee work and industry networking.
Much of the curriculum is self-paced, built around five books, a personality profile and presentations. Participants also join a monthly one-hour webinar and set their own communication schedule with their mentor.
No cost to participants
There is no cost to take part. NPMA funds participants' event registration and travel, including transportation, hotel and incidentals. The program is sponsored by PestPac by WorkWave.
Who should apply
The ELP is open to aspiring association leaders from member companies. Space is limited: a judging panel will select participants, evaluating each application on five criteria:
- Readiness – industry participation and evidence of leadership, such as involvement in a state association
- Aspiration – the drive to grow as a leader
- Commitment and engagement – dedication to NPMA and the industry, with a long-term view
- Ability – strategic thinking, self-mastery and sound judgment
- Personal character and integrity – trustworthiness and a track record of supportive relationships
