Recent PPMA Survey Emphasizes the Importance of Raising Awareness of Bed Bugs
To inform their Bed Bug Awareness Week efforts, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) worked with The Harris Poll to survey the U.S. population about bed bugs. Some key findings from the survey include:
- 67% of Americans aren’t concerned about encountering bed bugs while traveling.
- Less than half of Americans would leave their hotel or rental property if they found bed bugs.
- 73% of Americans don’t know how to inspect for bed bugs.
- Only 27% of Americans are afraid of getting bitten by bed bugs.
These insights underscore the need to educate consumers on bed buds, the importance of prevention, and why it’s critical to work with a qualified professional to effectively control them.
PPMA encourages companies to incorporate these stats into media outreach and social media content. Please be sure to cite the stats like the example below!
- According to a recent National Pest Management Association (NPMA) survey conducted online by The Harris Poll, 27% of Americans are afraid of getting bitten by bed bugs.
