NPMA Members Bobby and Raleigh Jenkins Embark on Epic 5,500-Mile Charity Bike Ride
Brothers from ABC Home & Commercial Services demonstrate the spirit of NPMA Gives with cross-country journey supporting critical causes
When brothers Bobby and Raleigh Jenkins set out from Anchorage, Alaska on June 20, 2025, they weren't just embarking on the adventure of a lifetime—they were exemplifying the giving spirit that defines NPMA’s member community. The two NPMA members, representing ABC Home & Commercial Services in Austin and Houston respectively, are cycling an incredible 5,500 miles to College Station, Texas, raising funds and awareness for two deeply meaningful charitable causes.
Their journey, documented through brothersbike.org, perfectly embodies the values of NPMA Gives, the association's initiative that highlights how member companies actively give back to their local communities and support causes that matter.
A Personal Mission Driven by Love and Loss
For Bobby Jenkins, this ride represents something profoundly personal. He's cycling in memory of his first grandchild, Moss Pieratt, who passed away at just 15 months old from Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). This devastating condition affects children over 12 months of age who die unexpectedly, with the cause remaining a mystery even after thorough investigation.
"This ride is near and dear to my heart. I'm riding for my angel Moss, and all SUDC families," said Bobby Jenkins. His portion of the fundraising supports The Moss Pieratt Foundation, which promotes awareness and raises funds to find a cause or cure for SUDC. The foundation's funds help support crucial research for SUDC through the SUDC-Registry and Research Collaborative at NYU Langone Health where researchers, neurologists, and geneticists are conducting groundbreaking research.
Supporting Communities in Haiti and Beyond
Meanwhile, Raleigh Jenkins is pedaling for Mission Lazarus, a Christian ministry that focuses on holistic development in Haiti and Honduras. Mission Lazarus extends its mission to Honduras and Nicaragua, where it champions sustainable development, supports local leaders, and ensures access to critical resources like clean water and healthcare services.
Mission Lazarus takes a relationship-driven approach to serving others, focusing on four core aspects that provide a place for the "abundant life": Growing Spiritually, Thriving Physically, Learning Actively, and Earning Sustainably. The organization has earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and operates with the mission to cultivate dignity and purpose so that individuals can live abundant lives.
An Epic Journey of Endurance and Purpose
The brothers' ambitious route took through multiple states over approximately 78 days, with the epic journey concluding Saturday, September 6, at the Texas A&M football game—a fitting finale for their incredible cross-country adventure. The brothers averaged about 75 miles per day during their trek, which was supported by a 30-foot RV driven by two retired ABC employees, Mark Ambrose and Brian Kelly. This support vehicle assisted with logistics and help promote awareness for their charitable efforts.
This isn't the brothers’ first long-distance charity ride. Bobby and Raleigh, along with younger brother Dennis, previously completed a cross-country bicycle journey from Seattle to New York City that raised over $400,000 for SUDC research, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to finding answers for grieving families. Remarkably, all three Jenkins brothers have previously served as president of NPMA, making their charitable efforts even more meaningful to the pest management community.
NPMA Gives in Action
The Jenkins brothers' charitable endeavor represents exactly what NPMA Gives seeks to celebrate and promote within the pest management industry. The program recognizes that NPMA member companies and their employees don't just provide essential services—they also serve as pillars in their communities, contributing time, resources, and passion to causes that make a real difference.
"We are thrilled to embark on this challenging adventure to raise funds and awareness for two causes that are so close to our hearts," said Raleigh Jenkins, capturing the spirit of giving that defines so many NPMA members.
Their 5,500-mile journey serves as an inspiring example of how industry professionals can leverage their platforms and personal commitments to create meaningful change. Through their ride, Bobby and Raleigh are not only honoring the memory of young Moss and supporting vulnerable communities in Haiti, but also demonstrating the values that make the pest management community special.
