NPMA Legislative Day 2026: Industry Unites in Washington to Protect Our Future
NPMA's 2026 Legislative Day brought together over 475 pest management professionals in Washington, D.C., March 15–17, making it one of the most powerful gatherings in the event's history. From compelling keynote sessions to landmark moments on Capitol Hill, this year's event underscored the strength, purpose, and momentum of our industry.
A Strong Voice on the Hill
On Tuesday, more than 230 NPMA members took their advocacy directly to Capitol Hill, meeting with legislators and their staff to advance the industry's top priority: the inclusion of pesticide preemption in the 2026 Farm Bill. The energy and commitment in those meetings were undeniable, as pest management professionals from across the country delivered a unified message about the importance of consistent, science-based pesticide regulation at the federal level.
Keynote Highlights
This year's lineup of keynote speakers brought remarkable perspective and insight to the program.
Renowned historian Rick Atkinson, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and one of America's most respected chroniclers of military history, offered a sweeping and inspiring look at leadership, perseverance, and the lessons of history that resonate deeply in today's policy landscape.
Economist Elliot Eisenberg, known for his engaging and accessible take on economic trends, delivered a timely and thought-provoking analysis of the forces shaping the U.S. economy and what they mean for businesses like ours.
Rear Admiral Scott Moore, the Navy SEAL commander who led the mission to rescue Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates, shared his firsthand account of leadership under pressure, decisive action, and the power of a well-prepared team.
Recognizing Excellence
Legislative Day also celebrated the achievements of outstanding individuals within our community. The Policy Person of the Year Award was presented to Adam Carace, recognizing his exceptional contributions to NPMA's advocacy efforts. The PestVet of the Year Award was presented to David Poplin, honoring his dedication to supporting veterans in the pest management profession.
This year's event also marked a proud milestone with the graduation of the latest class of NPMA's Executive Leadership Program (ELP), celebrating the next generation of industry leadership.
Connecting and Celebrating
Beyond the sessions and Hill visits, attendees had the opportunity to connect at several memorable social events, including the PAC Reception and a variety of networking events throughout the conference. These gatherings reinforced what makes Legislative Day so special: the relationships built among people who share a deep commitment to this industry.
Looking Ahead
The enthusiasm and advocacy on display this year make clear that the pest management industry has never been more engaged or more united. We are grateful to every member who made the trip to Washington and to our sponsors, Strategic Partners, and Key Partners, whose support makes this event possible.
