Gary W. Rollins Foundation Donates $1 Million to Establish New Pest Management Foundation Legacy Fund
The landmark gift, structured as $500,000 initial donation plus $500,000 in matching funds, establishes dedicated research endowment to advance the pest management industry for generations to come.
APRIL 30, 2026 - FAIRFAX, Va. — The Pest Management Foundation (PMF), the charitable arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), today announced a transformational $1 million gift from the Gary W. Rollins Foundation to establish the new PMF Legacy Fund. The donation is structured as an initial $500,000 gift, with the Gary W. Rollins Foundation committing to match an additional $500,000 in contributions raised from the broader pest management community. This brings the total potential impact of the gift to $1.5 million dedicated exclusively to funding pest management research.
The PMF Legacy Fund represents a milestone in the Foundation’s more than 60-year history of supporting the pest management industry through education, research, and outreach. Proceeds from the fund will be directed entirely toward applied pest control research that will have a real, practical impact on how industry professionals protect public health, food, and property across the globe.
The matching component is a direct call to action for the pest management community: every dollar donated to the PMF Legacy Fund will be matched by the Gary W. Rollins Foundation, dollar for dollar, up to $500,000. The Foundation’s commitment to keeping overhead low — capping grant overhead at no more than 5% — ensures that the overwhelming majority of every dollar raised goes directly to funding meaningful research.
“The generosity of the Gary W. Rollins Foundation is extraordinary, and its impact will be felt across our industry for years to come. The PMF Legacy Fund gives us the dedicated, sustained resources to fund the kind of applied research that truly moves the needle for pest management professionals,” noted Tim Pollard, Chair, Pest Management Foundation. “This gift is an investment in the future of our industry and a challenge to all of us to match their commitment. I encourage every member of the pest management community to help us unlock the full $500,000 in matching funds.”
"The pest management industry plays an essential role in protecting people, property, and public health every single day,” noted Gary Rollins, Trustee of the Gary W. Rollins Foundation. “The Gary W. Rollins Foundation is delighted to help establish a fund that will support the research behind that important work for years to come. We invite the pest management community to join us and help make the most of this matching opportunity."
How to Support the PMF Legacy Fund
The pest management community is invited to join the Gary W. Rollins Foundation in building this historic endowment. Contributions to the PMF Legacy Fund are eligible for the dollar-for-dollar match, helping to unlock the full $500,000 in additional funding. Donations of any size are welcome.
