The Alliance Leads National Push on Rodent Risks During Rodent Awareness Week

FAIRFAX, VA (October 21, 2025) — The fall season is well underway, and with it comes the seasonal surge in rodent activity that keeps our industry busy and engaged. To meet this moment, the Professional Pest Management Alliance is mobilizing pest control companies nationwide around one powerful message for consumers: Call in the experts.

Rodent Awareness Week, recognized by Chase's Calendar of Events and taking place October 19-25, 2025, provides a critical opportunity to demonstrate the industry’s role in protecting American families and businesses. While this week serves as the perfect launchpad for this campaign, the resources provided are designed for year-round impact, helping companies educate consumers about rodent threats well into the fall and winter months ahead when rodent activity remains high.

The Alliance represents the collective voice of the industry, leveraging awareness weeks like this one to amplify the message that pest management professionals are highly-trained experts who serve as the first line of defense against dangerous disease vectors.

"With only 39% of Americans able to properly identify signs of rodent activity, we have the power to transform how people understand pest threats,” said Jim Fredericks, Executive Director of the Alliance. “During peak rodent season, we’re making a strategic, concerted effort to raise awareness about the risks they pose. When we work together as an industry, we create a level of awareness that drives demand for qualified professionals.”

The organization is empowering companies to amplify their impact during Rodent Awareness Week by:

  • Leveraging rodent-themed content during the week and using #RodentAwarenessWeek on social media to engage homeowners and share expert advice.
  • Resharing content from @PestWorld on Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, and YouTube and @PestWorldOfficial on Instagram.
  • Directing consumers to proven educational tools including project microsites like Out of Sight, What Grows There? and Rodents Revealed – centralized resources with educational videos and articles.
  • Utilizing the exclusive Rodent Awareness Week marketing toolkit available to Mainframe subscribers – packed with a customizable press release, social media posts, infographics, high-resolution images, video assets and more to help companies maximize our unified message.

“When consumers truly understand the safety and peace of mind professionals bring to their lives, every company benefits,” added Fredericks. “We hope you’ll join us in this important mission during Rodent Awareness Week and beyond.”
