NPMA Launches Comprehensive Sustainability in Pest Management Site
FAIRFAX, VA – November 10, 2025 – The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has announced the launch of its comprehensive Sustainability in Pest Management site, a new online resource designed to help pest management professionals of all business sizes integrate sustainable practices into their operations.
Developed by NPMA's dedicated Sustainability Task Force—comprised of industry experts and forward-thinking practitioners and led by Steve Nylund, President, NA of Anticimex—the site addresses the growing consumer demand for environmentally conscious pest management services while providing businesses with tools to improve their bottom line.
"For generations, the pest management industry has stood at the frontlines of public health, and today that legacy continues with a clear focus on sustainability," said Steve Nylund, North American President at Anticimex. "This new site demonstrates our industry's commitment to environmental stewardship while helping our members discover real business benefits, from operational efficiencies to cost savings and increased customer trust."
The Sustainability site features a comprehensive framework built around five essential areas: Mobility, Service Efficacy, Facilities, Environmental Impact, and Technology. Each pillar includes actionable strategies tailored to help companies make measurable improvements.
Key resources available exclusively for NPMA members through the site include
- Sustainability Scorecard – An interactive tool to track improvements in fuel consumption, chemical usage, and energy efficiency
- Sustainability Models – Eight proven strategies to reduce costs and environmental impact simultaneously
"Sustainability is no longer optional—it's a smart move for any business," added Dominique Stumpf, NPMA CEO. "Our members aren't just doing what's right for the planet; they're gaining competitive advantages, lowering costs, reducing risks, and ensuring their businesses stay strong for the long haul."
The site also introduces the NPMA Sustainability Pledge, a voluntary recognition program for companies that routinely monitor their sustainability efforts and achieve measurable progress. Pledge participants will be recognized on the NPMA website.
