HISTORIC FRENCH QUARTER CARRIAGE TOUR

Saturday, October 22 | 10:30 a.m. - Noon

Experience New Orleans in a way unlike any other as you are whisked away by a procession of quaint mule drawn carriages on your own private cavalcade down the streets of the French Quarter.  As the carriages move through the Vieux Carre you will experience first-hand the old world ambiance, history and architecture of this famous New Orleans neighborhood.  Other sites include Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and many other New Orleans favorites.  

MYSTERIES OF LOUISIANA SWAMPLANDS

Saturday, October 22 | 9:00 a.m. - Noon

Take an incredible journey into the mysterious swamps and bayous of Southern Louisiana. On this one-of-a-kind swamp boat tour you will travel into the depths of Cajun country as you hear tales of the Cajun folks and how they reap the bounty of their surrounding, trapping nutria, mink, otter and muskrat, hunting frogs and alligators; fishing for catfish and crabs. You will see exotic tropical plans and wildlife only found in the Louisiana wetlands, including majestic herons, nutria and large turtles sunning themselves, and alligators quietly easing through the murky, cypress shrouded waters. Lunch is not included

A TALE OF TWO CITIES

Visit New Orleans landmarks and learn the fascinating history behind these buildings and this unique city. You will see the famous historic St. Louis No. 3 cemetery and hear about the unique burial system in New Orleans. You will then head toward Lake Pontchartrain where you will notice the remnants of damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. You will also have time to see St. Charles Avenue, the Garden District, and the Warehouse District. Lunch is not included.

FOREVER NEW ORLEANS

Saturday, October 22 | 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

 

Take the ultimate tour of New Orleans!  Begin with Jackson Square in the famed Vieux Carre', site of St. Louis Cathedral, the Pontalba Buildings, the Presbytere and the Cabildo, which served as Colonial seats of government. Continue along the historic Esplanade Avenue, lined with its original mansions and townhouses, toward the Faubourg St. John, where you will visit an above ground City of the Dead, St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. You will then visit City Park, once a thriving sugar plantation and now the fifth largest municipal park in the nation. Traveling up Carrollton Avenue, you will view picturesque Tulane and Loyola Universities followed by a trip up St. Charles Avenue with a view of some of the most stately mansions and gardens.

PEST MANAGEMENT WALKING TOUR

Saturday, October 22 | 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Join us for a walking pest management tour of the French Quarter hosted by the City of New Orleans Mosquito and Termite Control Board.  During this two hour tour, you will learn about inspection tools and methods used to locate termites in the French Quarter; challenges associated with termite control in historic buildings in the French Quarter; efforts to control the Formosan Termite in New Orleans and “Operation Full Stop”; and “Rodents on the Riverfront” Rodent control efforts and challenges in the French Quarter.  Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.  Limited Space
