Golf Tournament
Renditions Golf Course
Wednesday, October 22
7:30 a.m. Shotgun Start
PestWorld's Golf Tournament, hosted by the Maryland State Pest Control Association and the Virginia Pest Management Association, takes place Wednesday, October 22 at the internationally-acclaimed Renditions Golf Course.
Each of Renditions’ 18-holes is a replica of a hole from a golf course that has one or more of golf’s four major championships: The Masters, The U.S. Open, The British Open and the PGA Championship. Located by the Patuxent River, this quiet and serene course is the perfect opportunity to join fellow PMPs, friends and vendors for a golf tournament loaded with prizes and awards. Optional Pest Management Field Trips
Behind the Scenes Pest Management Tour of the Smithsonian National Zoological Park
Wednesday, October 22
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
As with any zoo operation, the prevalence of habitat, water and animal feed can also invite unwanted animals to visit. You will have the opportunity on this unique tour to visit with pest management staff and keepers at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask your most important questions. To create this intimate hands-on learning experience – space is limited!
International Delegates Pest Management Field Trip: A Tour of Local Pest Management Operations*
Saturday, October 25
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Take advantage of your time in the Washington, D.C. metro area and experience first hand what pest management operations are like in the United States. Visit two successful local pest management firms, including a Western Pest Management Services branch office in Fairfax, Virginia, and Connor’s Termite & Pest Control, in Springfield, Virginia, both of which have graciously agreed to welcome PestWorld’s international delegates.
As an exciting part of the tour, international delegates will visit the NPMA headquarters and later, have the opportunity for a shopping excursion at Tyson’s Corner Center.
To maximize this valuable experience, space will be limited and pre-registration is required prior to your arrival.

Experience PestWorld and enjoy the Washington, D.C. metro area as a spouse or personal guest with the convention's Spouse & Guest Program. Welcome to Washington, D.C.
12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
See some of the United States most beloved sites, including Capitol Hill. Stop for a walking tour that will include the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Korean War Veterans Memorial. No tour of Washington D.C. would be complete without a visit to the National World War II Memorial.
Wednesday, October 22
Welcome to Washington, D.C.
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
This will be the same tour as described above on Tuesday.
Monuments by Moonlight
8 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
You haven’t seen the Washington, D.C. monuments until you’ve seen them all lit up! As you travel along the National Mall, a guide will point out the famous Smithsonian Museums, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the Jefferson Memorial. The tour will stop at the Lincoln Memorial, which also offers a perfect view of the Washington Monument and Reflecting Pool. Following the Lincoln Memorial, you will visit the Vietnam Veterans and Korean War Veterans Memorials. The last stop will be the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial.
Thursday, October 23
Spouse & Guest Program Luncheon Featuring Former White House Chef Walter Scheib
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
As Executive Chef at the White House from 1994 to 2005, Chef Walter Scheib managed and prepared all menus for the First Family, as well as official and state functions of the presidency. Enjoy a fabulous lunch, network with other PestWorld guests and spouses, and listen to interesting, informative and humorous antecdotes from Chef Scheib's years in the White House.
Kids' Lunch & Program
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
PestWorld 2008 is being held in the nation's capital and what a great opportunity to bring you children to see the sites and participate in our Kids' Program. Enjoy lunch and spend time with a popular local entertainer geared just for your kids.

Mount Vernon & Old Town Alexandria
10:15 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cross over the Potomac River to Mount Vernon, America's most visited historic house. Travel back in time to the eighteenth century to take a glimpse at the authentic life of George Washington, the first U.S. president. Following Mount Vernon, you will head to Old Town Alexandria, a former colonial port that is now a revitalized waterfront with cobblestone streets, colonial houses and churches, museums, shops, and restaurants.

10:15 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Visit some of the United States most beloved sites, including the U.S. Capitol Hill building*. Stop for a walking tour that will include the Washington Monument*, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the National World War II Memorial. No tour of Washington, D.C. would be complete without at visit to the magnificent White House*, the official residence of U.S. presidents. A picnic lunch on the National Mall will be included.

Garden and Great Estates: A Visit to Hillwood Mansion and Tudor Place (lunch on your own)

Situated in Northwest Washington, Hillwood Estate is a lush enclave in the middle of the city. Marjorie Merriweather Post, heiress to the Post cereal fortune, purchased the 25 acre estate in 1955. In 1805, Martha Custis Peter began building Tudor Place with an $8,000 legacy from her step-grandfather, George Washington. The imposing neoclassic mansion is surrounded by lawns, parterre and woods designed by the Peters and Dr. William Thornton, the first architect of the U.S. Capitol.
The International Spy Museum (lunch on your own)

Through interactive exhibits with state-of-the-art audiovisual effects, film, and hands-on components, the International Spy Museum traces the evolution of espionage through the people who practiced the profession, and provides for visitors to interpret the role that intelligence plays in current events.
Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall (lunch on your own)

Spend the morning exploring Washington D.C.'s most popular monuments and museums. Tour guides will be available to provide commentary, brochures and information about each monument and museum.
Smithsonian National Zoological Park
2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Take this opportunity to visit one of the best zoos on the East Coast. From leaf-cutter ants to Asian elephants, the National Zoo features 2,800 individual animals of 435 different species, including two adorable giant pandas and Amazonia, and enclosed tropical habitat where animals roam freely in a canopy of live trees.
A Tribute to Our Nation's Heroes
2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
As a tribute to America's heroes, visit the Iwo Jima Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery.
Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall
